The official Dev IPTV player comes from the Amazon Appstore on Fire TV, from Google Play on Android and Android TV, and by direct sideload for devices that have neither. Those are the routes we control. Everything else is a copy uploaded by somebody who is not us.
That is worth being blunt about, because if you searched for the APK you have probably already seen APKPure, Aptoide, APKMirror, Uptodown and Softonic ranking above this page for the name of our own app.
Why the mirror sites are a bad idea
An APK mirror re-hosts a file. It does not build it. Between the developer and your device sits a party with no obligation to you, and a repackaged Android build can carry anything its packager added — ad injection, a modified update endpoint, a credential-harvesting login screen that looks exactly like the real one.
You would not notice. That is the entire problem: a repackaged player looks and behaves like the real player right up until the moment it does something else.
There is a second, duller reason. Mirror copies go stale. When a version ships with an EPG fix or a playback change, a mirror serves whatever it happened to cache — so the bug you are searching a workaround for is often just an old build.
Install it the official way
Fire TV Stick and Fire TV Cube. Search the Amazon Appstore from the home screen. If the app is not listed for your region, use the Downloader sideload route on our Firestick setup guide, which walks through Developer options and the first launch.
Android phones, tablets and Android TV. Google Play. Sign in once with the login from your welcome email and the guide builds itself.
Samsung and LG. Neither Tizen nor webOS takes an Android APK at all, so the question does not apply. See the setup guides for what those TVs do accept.
Windows and Mac. No APK involved. Use the desktop player or a browser.
What to check before you install anything
Whatever you install, and whoever you install it from, three checks catch most of the trouble. Does the listing name match the publisher you expect? Does the app ask for permissions a video player has no use for — SMS, contacts, accessibility services? And does the sign-in screen ask for anything beyond the Xtream Codes username, password and server URL we emailed you?
A player needs network access and storage. It does not need your contacts.
You may not need an app at all
Every Dev IPTV subscription is a standard Xtream Codes login and an M3U URL. That means it works in most third-party players you already trust, and in a browser tab with no install of any kind. If you would rather not sideload anything, do not — the setup guides cover the alternatives.

The official app ships through the Amazon Appstore and Google Play. For devices with neither, we support a direct sideload — but we do not distribute through APKPure, Aptoide, APKMirror, Uptodown or Softonic, and files on those sites were uploaded by third parties, not by us.
Is it safe to download Dev IPTV Pro from APKPure or Uptodown?
We would not recommend it. Those sites re-host a file rather than building it, so a repackaged version can carry ad injection or a fake login screen and still look identical to the real app. They also serve stale builds, which is why some people search for fixes to bugs that were patched months ago.
