Before you start

Step 1 — Allow installs from unknown sources
From the Fire TV home screen go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer options, then turn on Install unknown apps for the Downloader app. On newer Fire OS builds Developer options is hidden until you open Settings → My Fire TV → About and click the device name seven times.
Step 2 — Install Downloader
Search the Amazon Appstore for Downloader (the orange icon) and install it. This is an official Appstore app and is the standard route for installing a player that is not listed in the store.
Step 3 — Install the Dev IPTV player
Open Downloader, enter the APK URL from your welcome email in the URL field, and select Go. When the download finishes, choose Install, then Done. You can delete the APK file afterwards to save space.
Step 4 — Sign in
Open the player and choose Xtream Codes login. Enter the username, password and server URL exactly as they appear in your email — these are case sensitive, and a trailing space is the most common cause of a failed login. Alternatively choose M3U and paste your playlist URL.
Step 5 — Let the guide build
The channel list and EPG populate automatically, usually in under a minute. Once it settles, changing channel should land in under a second.
Firestick-specific buffering fixes
The Firestick has less memory than most streaming boxes, so it benefits from housekeeping the others do not need:
- Clear the app cache under Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Applications. Clear cache, never Clear data.
- Restart weekly. Fire OS holds background processes; a restart frees memory and is the single most effective Firestick fix.
- Use the 5GHz band if your router offers one, and keep the stick away from the TV’s power cable — HDMI extenders help more than people expect.
- Turn off Data Monitoring under Settings → Preferences, which can throttle streams.
- Drop 4K to HD on a Firestick Lite, which is not a 4K device.
